GHCO is one of the fastest-growing liquidity providers specialising in exchange traded funds (ETFs). We strive to make ETFs accessible in worldwide markets by focusing on intelligent algorithmic trading, tight spreads, building a reliable market presence, and cultivating the expertise to price a wide range of products. We’re a small team of expert traders and software engineers looking for bright, kind and passionate people who have an interest in advancing the state of the art in algorithmic trading. We want to build a team with diverse perspectives, skills, passions and backgrounds.

We are looking for a mid-level Big Data Engineer for our new systematic market-making function within the Quantitative Research team of the Trading function of GHCO. The amount of data we consume daily grows significantly in size, breadth, and scope. At the same time, our quantitative traders and researchers increasingly need to focus on developing new algorithms and strategies for our systematic market-making business, without having to maintain the data that is required for their analyses.

Your skills and

experience

  • Experience working with complex datasets in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Experience with CI/CD (continuous integration/continuous deployment) and data orchestration tools
  • Software engineering skills, preferably Python and/or Java
  • Certifications in big data tools
  • Experience in deploying machine learning models into production environments
  • Technical degree in engineering, computer science, or equivalent
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
a little bit

about you

  • There will be an increasing need for someone with experience in putting algorithms into production (including machine learning models) to oversee that process... Therefore we need someone who can optimise and look after our extensive big data pipelines using a hybrid combination of their data engineering experience and expertise working within quantitative or data science teams. Because the domain of ETF market making poses some of the most significant data and analytical challenges in the financial industry, the ideal candidate will need to have experience working in finance or in a large organisation.
